Second workshop of the training series „Capacity Building for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU)”
The second workshop of the training series „Capacity Building for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU)” was implemented in Kyiv by Constanze Aka, project manager at IEP, on 4th and 5th of April, 2016. The training was delivered to staffers of the European Integration committee as well as other parliamentary committees. Core topic was the legal harmonisation with the EU acquis. The participants took actively part in sessions on the obligations deriving of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, the EU legal order, and methods of legal harmonisation.
The upcoming workshop at the Verkhovna Rada will take place in the end of April 2016, taking up the topic by working on and with instruments of legal harmonisation. Main objective of the training series is to strengthen the capacities of the Verkhovna Rada to effectively contribute to the implementation of the Association Agreement.
