Yearbook of European Integration 2000/2001
The Yearbook of European Integration published by the Institute for European Politics (IEP) in Berlin documents and balances the European integration process from 1980 to the present. The result is a uniquely comprehensive account of European contemporary history. The “Yearbook of European Integration 2002/2001” continues that tradition. The Yearbook of European Integration is a project of the Institute for European Politics (IEP), Berlin, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and realized in cooperation with the Center for Applied Policy Research at the University of Munich. The aim of the book is to capture and evaluate the facets of the increasingly complex European policy.
The intergovernmental conference that concluded with the Treaty of Nice is the main focus of the “Yearbook of European Integration 200/2001”. The revision of the Treaty is the first step towards a profound restructuring of the European institutions. All policy areas will have to be scrutinized to get the Union prepared for enlargement. The member states and the candidate countries meet the new challenges of enlargement and the future shape of an enlarged Europe. In more than 70 articles the authors trace developments in European politics in their field of research priority in the reporting period 2002/2001.
