Panel on the European Citizens’ Initiative at the ECPR General Conference
Katrin Böttger, Deputy Director of the Institut für Europäische Politik, and Annette Knaut, University Koblenz-Landau, organised a panel on ‘The European Citizens’ Initiative: Strengthening European Democracy?’ at the 2013 ECPR General Conference in Bordeaux. Five research papers were presented at the panel, which discussed methodological and theoretical challenges of this new instrument of participative democracy on the EU level. These research papers will be published with additional articles in a book in 2014.
