Study Group Enlargement / Neighbourhood Policy
Chaired by Elmar Brok, MEP, on 25 June 2010, the Study Group “Enlargement / Neighbourhood Policy” of the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) met in the Representation of Saarland in Berlin.
The topic of the meeting “The Treaty of Lisbon: What models of cooperation with the neighbours in the light of consolidation”” dealt with the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and its regional varieties as well as the upcoming enlargements and the European External Action Service (EEAS).
Professor Jopp (IEP) put the topics up for discussion and outlined the focus of the meeting. The discussion was based on short presentations of Dr. Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut (Federal Chancellery, Berlin), Gerhard Almer (Federal Foreign Office, Berlin), Dr. Marzenna Guz-Vetter (Representation of the European Commission to Germany, Berlin), Prof. Dr. Timm Beichelt (European University Viadrina, Frankfurt O.) and Dr. Stefan Meister (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik, Berlin).
