Civic School for Sound EU Practice Relaunched!

The Civic School for Sound EU Practice starts a new series of trainings in Ukraine until 2019, develops cooperation with local partners and increases its outreach. New participants looked for!

In the years 2015–2017, the Institute for European Politics has successfully conducted the Civic School for Sound EU Practice (CiSEP) in Ukraine. Within the project, more than 80 representatives of Ukrainian civil society organizations from all over Ukraine were trained to critically monitor and influence the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Thanks to the support of the German Federal Foreign Office the project has been extended until mid-2019 and will now (as of May 2017) start its second project cycle.

In the last days of April 2017, the representatives of the Capacity Development Ukraine Team at IEP, Anne Bercio, Constanze Aka and Martin Stein, met in Kyiv with Ukrainian project partners from Polissya Foundation for International and Regional Studies (Chernihiv), Civil Network OPORA (Lviv) and Odessa regional organization of All-Ukrainian NGO “Committee of Voters of Ukraine” to evaluate the training measures of the first project cycle. As the meeting also served as planning of the second project cycle they were joined by representatives of a new CiSEP partner: Dnipro Regional Organization of NGO “Public Chamber of Ukraine”.

Based on the feedback from previous participants, the new trainings have been further developed and adapted according to the needs and experiences of the Ukrainian civil society representatives. Thanks to the new partner, CiSEP will not only continue its work in Chernihiv, Odessa and Lviv, but also extend it to Dnipro. Each of the cities will play a role as a regional training center.

The first trainings of the new CiSEP training cycle will start in July 2017. For this we are looking for 75 active citizens and change-makers from all regions of Ukraine. Here you can find the Call for Applications.
